BuildingTalk is a private community for the people who live in your building. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

When you create an account we collect your email address, a display name, and your password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider). You may optionally add a profile photo and a short bio. We also store the buildings you join and the content you create — posts, comments, votes, messages, and follows.
To operate the app we process basic technical data such as your device type, app version, and timestamps of your activity. When you search for your building, your typed address is sent to mapping providers (OpenStreetMap and Google Places) to return matching results.
We use your information to provide the service: to authenticate you, show you your building's community, deliver posts and messages, manage your subscription, and keep the community safe. We do not sell your personal information.
Your display name, profile photo, and bio are visible to other members. Your posts, comments, and votes are visible to members of the buildings you share them in. Your email address is never shown to other residents. If you post anonymously (a Pro feature), your name is not attached to that content — and because we do not record who authored an anonymous post, it cannot be edited or deleted afterward.
We rely on trusted third parties to run BuildingTalk: Supabase (database, authentication, and real-time messaging), RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play (subscription billing), Google AdMob (advertising shown to free users), Resend (transactional email such as welcome and password-reset messages), GIPHY (GIF search), and OpenStreetMap and Google Places (address search). These providers process data only to perform their service.
Free accounts may see ads delivered by Google AdMob. To show these ads, AdMob may process device and usage information such as a device advertising identifier. We do not use this data to track you across other companies' apps and websites. BuildingTalk Pro removes ads entirely.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your own posts at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at support@building-talk.com and we will process your request.
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and database access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
BuildingTalk is not directed to children under 13, and you must meet the minimum age required in your country to use the service. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will ask you to review and accept the updated version before continuing to use the app.
